Basic Background Reports
An identity verification and county-level criminal search forms the basis of a basic report and is a great way to quickly get the essentials on your applicant.
For those employers wanting a Basic Background Report, Backgrounds Online recommends running an Identity Scan and a County Level Criminal search. This Basic Background Report does two things. First, the Identity Scan confirms that the person is who they say they are and provides an address history. Second, the County Criminal Search will reveal if the job applicant has been convicted of any felonies or misdemeanors in the past 7-10 years. (It will also reveal any pending cases the applicant may be involved with, but keep in mind, that this information may not be used adversely until a final decision has been made by the court.)Please note, just because Backgrounds Online considers an Identity Scan and County Level Criminal Search a Basic Background Report, this does not mean an employer has to. Backgrounds Online allows employers to create their own Basic Background Reports according to their needs.
